Rotary District 9215 is one of East Africa's most active service networks. With more than 100 clubs and over 3,000 members across four countries, our reach is both broad and  deeply rooted. 1. Sustainable Community Projects (Not Just Quick Fixes)

Creating a lasting impact means building projects with long-term ownership by the community. In our district:

Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH): In South Sudan and Western Kenya, long-term impact means moving beyond drilling boreholes to establishing community water management committees and hygiene education. Ensuring long-term access to clean water reduces waterborne diseases and keeps children in school.

Basic Education & Literacy: From primary schools in Nairobi’s western suburbs to rural institutions across Western Kenya, our clubs focus on equipping schools with digital literacy labs, renewable solar power, and ongoing teacher training—creating educational ecosystems that thrive year after year.

2. Empowering Local Economies & Peacebuilding

Sustainable peace and economic growth are inextricably linked:

Peace & Conflict Prevention: In regions navigating socio-economic transitions or post-conflict recovery, like parts of South Sudan and regional cross-border communities, Rotarians serve as trusted peacebuilders. Training local youth leaders in conflict management creates ripple effects of stability.

Economic & Community Development: Empowering women’s cooperatives and youth entrepreneurs with micro-financing and vocational skills guarantees that economic opportunities continue growing long after the initial Rotary project concludes.
